Fennel Fig Kale Smoothie Recipe



Hey guys!

I’m excited to share this smoothie with you because it’s the most sophisticated recipe I’ve tried yet – and it contains flavors I had never tasted together before! Orange, fennel, fig, lemon and almond butter all combine to create a brand-new combination of flavors that is rich and zesty to the max! I modified this recipe from one I found called Mediterranean Dream, in my favorite green smoothie book.

Fennel Fig Kale Smoothie

Ever had a Mediterranean dream? Me neither - not until I found and modified this recipe, however! Sweet, rich and zesty beyond belief, this kale smoothie recipe will fill you up and give you tons of energy!
Ingredients
  • 1 cup fennel
  • 1 cup dried figs
  • ⅓ cup almond butter
  • ⅓ cup lemon juice
  • 3 dates
  • ¼ cup orange zest
  • 2 cups water and ice
Instructions
  1. discard stems and roughly chop fennel bulb
  2. juice two lemons
  3. zest one orange
  4. put everything in blender
  5. blend and serve!

    Hey Paul,
    your kale recipes look awfully good. I can’t quite decide which one I’m going to make tonight 🙂 Just a quick note to let you know you forgot to add kale to the list of ingredients in the Fennel Fig Kale smoothie.

    • Hi Natalie,

      I usually put 1-2 cups of kale in each smoothie, and I always guestimate it. That’s what I recommend you do, too! Smoothie-makin’ is not an exact science. Thanks for writing!
