  • 3 bananas
  • 3 large leaves of kale
  • ½ cup almond butter
  • 1 cup ice and water
  • 2 drops vanilla extract
  • 1 healthy handful of cilantro
  1. add all ingredients to blender, blend and serve!



Hey there, Welcome back.

Today I’m going to show you how to make an almond cilantro kale smoothie.

Alright: Ingrediente Run-through: We got some almond butter, kale, three bananas, chia seeds, vanilla extract, some ice water, and a healthy handful of cilantro.

Alright: Let’s get started!

First thing we’re gonna do, is put in these bananas. You could use frozen bananas too if you want, I’m usin’ room temperature.

Either way it’s delicious.

Okay; I”m usin’ three big ol’ leaves of kale this time. Take the stems out. De-stem. Always de-stem.

Alright: Now I’m gonna use my favorite rubber spatula, to get a half-cup of almond butter out of here.

That looks like a half cup. Get in there… mmm-mh!

Now I’m throwing in some ice water. That’s one cup, of ice, and water.

Next we’re gonna put in a healthy handful of cilantro. So, when I say, “healthy handful,” I guess I mean like, half a cup.

And cilantro is one of those herbs – you may not know this – you can use the leaves AND the stems. Because the stems have just as much flavor as the leaves. Not the case with all herbs.

And we’re gonna put in just a COUPLE drops of vanilla extract. One… Two…. (You can put in three or four if you want. It’s still gonna be good.)

And now for chia seeds – lovely chia seeds. They have lots of antioxidants and omega fatty acids in them, and a little-known fact is that marathon runners like to eat them because they’re really small and lightweight, but then when you eat them, they expand in your stomach, so they’re really efficient. To eat. That kind of thing.

Tablespoon of chia seeds. Goin’ in there.

Alright, let’s blend that up.

Okay: Ain’t nothin’ left to do but pour it in a glass, and drink it.

Mmm, mm that looks good. It’s got a nice, kind of roasted flavor, from the chia seeds. It’s really tasty.
