    Hi there!
I’m a smoothie newbie if you will, and after lots of failed experimental recipes of my own, I finally decided to find some tried, tested and true recipes. I just found your website today, so I haven’t had a chance to really dive in and read all the comments, but was wondering what your thoughts are on frozen kale.

    Let me know!

    • Hi Paula,

Aw, I’m sorry your own experiments have not been more successful, but if you stick with it I’m sure they will get better.

Frozen kale wasn’t something I had investigated before, until I recently started getting a few questions about it. So just last night I de-stemmed some kale, put it in sandwich bags in the freezer, and boy was I happy with the way it worked this morning!

The first thing I liked about it was that (in that sleepy, first-thing-in-the-morning state) I didn’t have to think about washing or de-stemming the kale I’d just picked from my garden. All I had to do was unzip the baggy and drop it in.

The second thing I liked about it was that it made my smoothie colder, which is always a plus for me. The colder the better – room temperature smoothies are not the greatest, in my book.

      Hope that helps!

  2. Dude, your recipes sound great but a bit light on the kale…ever think about using a higher proportion of locally grown ingredients…like apples blueberries strawberries romaine lettuce….I’m just saying.
