For those of you who are just getting started, here is a very accessible, low-impact kale smoothie recipe to warm you up to the idea.
Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger
  • ½ cucumber
  • ½ cup apple juice
  • 1 banana
  • 3 leaves kale
  • ½ bag frozen pineapple chunks
Instructions
  1. Peel and chop ginger, put in blender.
  2. Chop cucumber, put in blender.
  3. Pour apple juice into blender and blend ingredients.
  4. Peel banana, put in blender.
  5. De-stem kale leaves, tear into chunks and put in blender.
  6. Pour pineapple chunks into blender.
  7. Blend ingredients and enjoy!

Hey guys, it’s Paul. The first time I ever tried to make a kale shake was in response to the Joe Rogan Podcast, where he was talking about mixing kale with celery, pear, ginger, and cucumber, and that’s it. It made my body feel really good but it didn’t taste really great. So I made some modifications. I removed the celery, for example, I added frozen pineapple chunks and a banana, and that turned it into like a delicious drink, that also made me feel really good at the same time.

So I wanna share with you just that basic concoction – that I first created when I first started doing this about a year ago – and I’m gonna show you right now. So let’s get to it!

Okay, ingredients run-through: We’ve got kale, cucumber, pineapple chunks, apple juice, a banana and ginger. Just a super basic kale smoothie.

We’re gonna start by breaking off a piece of ginger, and we’re gonna take the skin off with a spoon. Now we’re just gonna slice it up…

Now we’ll just throw in some cucumber, and a little apple juice, to get that blended. About half a cup.

Lookin’ good. Alright. Now, we’re just gonna peel this banana here, put that in there.

Put the kale in, blend that up. Alright: almost there.

We’re gonna throw in pineapple chunks for sweetness, and we are done.

All you gotta do at this point is pour it in a glass and drink it. Basic kale smoothie. Enjoy!

      Drinking kale smoothies daily will definitely contribute to a healthier you. When I started doing it, I was not getting anywhere near my daily requirement of leafy greens, and I immediately started to feel better. Combined with a reasonable exercise regimen, I have a lot of confidence you will feel much better than before. Thanks for writing!
